Through good fortune and old friends, I got to go to Big Day Out at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC).

The lineup was great! Local band Split Second Alibi started the show, then 12 Stones rocked out, leading into Nonpoint’s performance. After Nonpoint, Alter Bridge came on to give what I think was honestly the best performance of the night. Next up was Sevendust, who, while the band was incredibly tight and kicked ass, the vocalist was a bit off. Unable to keep up with the songs, he was dropping lyrics left and right. A minor dissapointment from one of my favorite bands. They were good, but after Alter Bridge, a little less professional in the vocalist’s presence.

Godsmack closed the night with an incredible performance. Lights and pyrotechnics, precise, completely and properly performed songs, and lots of interaction with the crowd. All in all, with minor flaws included, it was probably the best festival style lineup I’ve seen to date…
